I must admit, I have long wanted someone to start this topic off, since any casual look down the middle seats of a European flight will show that females seem to end up in the middle, for one reason or another. I sometimes think it is due to the fact that men kick up a fuss, more likely to have status, more motivated to do something about it; maybe women have other priorities in their life than were they are perched for an hour or so..... But if you look down a EDI, NCL or MAN flight in the morning, which will be typically 70% male, the middle seats will often have more than half female. I suspect this is a cultural bias by everyone involved (husbands, wives, gate agents), so hello Jenbel, you'll probably be nearby!
