My question was "tongue in cheek". I know the policy-it's just never made any sense to me, and has cost Marriott $$$$ of lost business from me.
Why offer free breakfast at regular hotels where my clients happily will pay for breakfast--and exclude it when we go on vacation and have to pay out of pocket?
I have simply shifted massive amounts of high rate business to Hilton, where there are no exclusions to free breakfast....
Go figure.
