The 777 is a pretty good aircraft. But it's clear that the lessons learned in designing the 777 weren't carried over to the 787. Sure, they're using a lot of different materials, but I'm talking about the process and program management sorts of things.
Shareholder value doesn't build a quality airplane, though a quality airplane might build shareholder value.
