I'd vote for the Burnham. If you have any intrest at all in architecture, it is really hard to beat the Reliance building (where the Burnham is). The rooms are small but very comfortable. Allegro feels a bit dated to me.

The el to the Crowne Plaza is not super easy. The hotel is about half a mile from a station and you'll have to transfer. The cab to the CP wouldn't be that bad at that time of night. Maybe $25-30? The Orange Line to the Burnahm (or Allegro for that matter) is easy.
