^ I've seen a couple of them now with flight information screens.

MCI never had one, but for many years they allowed anyone to use the short-term garage for 30 minutes so that was good enough. Now there's a sign in long-term parking that says "Cell Phone waiting" - presumably they'll allow you the 30-60 minutes in there - but it's a long way from the terminal with quite a drive to the exit and then return to the airport. (The exit is designed to be convenient to the Interstate, not the terminals.) Now, if I'm fetching someone from MCI and I'm early, I just wait in the Marriott lot.

Still not sure why they killed off the 30 minute rule on short-term parking. People who aren't aware of the Marriott or other nearby places to safely chill for a while are likely to just circle the terminals.
