Sorry. I wasn't implying AA doesn't do that. I only said that UA seems to have the upper hand now on availability in general (for awards that interest me), and that seems to have changed in the past 5 years.
About T-3, I can only assume does T-3 but don't have any information about this. I switched from a AA Y award to J at T-1 before, but that was a while ago.
