You probably knew this, but here's a little more detail I came across in my textbook today:
It costs $324 to land a B747 in CLT, but $11687 to land the same plane in YYZ in 2010. No wonder most carriers don't fly their 747's here! However, it is interesting to note that the cost per enplaned passenger (including only airport fees -- landing, taxes, improvement fees, plane parking fee, etc) is only $35 at YYZ. Interestingly, YYZ does not charge many other incidentals such as noise, emissions, and other fees that many American and European airports do. The only fees I happened to see in the "other" category was a parking fee for sitting more than 6 hours in YYZ.
Hope you enjoy them!
On a somewhat unrelated note, LAX employs almost double the number of staff than any other North American airport!
