In my experience in AMS 2 years ago, while the announcement doesn't mention Silvers, if you went and asked the gate agents would let silvers through. I hope Silvers still get this benefit as I'm on target to regain silver in a month via the long way round (50 flights) almost all of which are AMS-LGW-AMS.
