I got a buddy to go with me, it looks like we're going to drive to Denver, then stay in Vegas for two nights. So this becomes more do-able (and safer).

I'm nowhere close to Diamond status, I stay at hotels maybe 3-4 times a year. But the current promotion they have going on is pretty nice, at least in terms of what properties (the HPs) I like and the redemption awards. As I'm getting a travel allowance, I'd rather stay in somewhere remotely acceptable rather than just a cheap hotel/motel.
