In my opinion, advertising 1/1 as high-speed is false advertising. I had a 1mbit DSL connection in 1996 and yes, it was high-speed in comparison to 56k dial-up. 17 years later, that definition is not the same. 1mbit hovers right around (and generally falls short of) the requirement to stream 480p Youtube. Oddly, the option is called "High Speed Lite" with no non-lite alternative.
The gym isn't bad as far as hotel gyms go, but nothing special. It's small with a few treadmills, ellipticals, some of the small set-weight barbells, and a few exercise balls. Oddly, they have a pull-up bar, but the ceiling is so low, it's basically unusable. There is only 6" or so of clearance above it so if you tried to bring your chin above the bar, you'd crash into the ceiling.
Curious on the gym ceiling height.
When I'm in this hotel, I amuse myself by speculating what will be done when the bamboo forest in the lobby grows taller. They have a lot of healthy trees in there. I like it; it seems restful and peaceful, in keeping with the Westin theme and colors.
