I don't think that's the question you want to ask.
You seem to want to ask:
How likely we will be able to transfer from AA to US miles before US leaves the Star Alliance? And
that's what's very unlikely.
In other words, while it's quite possible that there will be two-way transfers before the programs are completely merged (simliar to UA<->CO and DL<->NW), it's more than likely that that won't happen until US shifts alliances.
So if your goal is *A redemptions, this is the wrong thing to count on, IMHO.
