GOL and TAM regularly do promotions, where you fly domestic for only 3000 miles/points, instead of the usual 10000. The problem is to have their miles and want to fly to that specific place when there is a promotion.
And sometimes the promotion is with cash, so it doesn't make sense to pay with miles from another programming (usually 20-25000 round trip).
