If you flew before May 15, AA provides 'off-peak' rates (40K r/t) US-Europe. Not sure about AA flights to/from PHX, but however you get to ORD, ORD-LHR-NCE is doable on AA with relatively small YQ. Returning, best depart from somewhere other than LHR to avoid the APD.
How much time are you thinking of spending in Europe? If your schedule allows, you could do both Monaco/Provence and Switzerland (or whever else you'd like to go). LCCs abound in Europe (not counting Ryanair

) and the train service is prompt, frequent, romantic, and relatively inexpensive.
Some indication of your budget would also help. We know you're not going to be slathering money around, but it will take some. Let us know some parameters and we can help you

BigLar, looking to fly after May 15, outbound probably out on the 19th or 20th (his bday is the 21st), so I'm guessing the Economy 60k r/t MileSAAVer would be what I'm left with. If I took the French Riviera option, would spend 2 nights in Monaco at the Fairmont, and then look at either of the Le Meridien properties in either Nice or Monaco, or other options in Nice. Are there Hilton properties in Nice? I know there are none in Monaco. Looking to spend about a 7-9 days in Europe based on points availability. Additionally, what would you suggest for a budget for 2? Have been to Italy once with a large school group. Fairmont includes breakfasts, and we have no problem doing breakfast cheaply. Budget, lets say roughly $5,000?
