I get an S class fare of $1259.26 plus taxes, fees and charges.
When I price this:-
12 Jun CPT-LHR BA58
19 Jun LHR-JFK BA117
26 Jun JFK-LHR BA182
27 Jun LHR-CPT BA59
I get the same S class fare of $1259.26, although the taxes, fees and charges are higher because of the stopover.
So it is possible to do the LON stopover without paying a higher fare, provided that you are comparing like with like, ie the booking classes are the same in both alternatives.
