I've been asked to remove cables and power supply at LUX on a couple of occasions, although not on my most recent trip.

It is a very minor extra effort, but one I'm happy to make; after all, a large amount of wire and other x-ray opaque items in your case makes it harder for the folks monitoring the scanner to see what else may be lurking in there.
