You can only book the codeshare if connecting from a BA flight. So LHR-YYZ-YOZ can be booked with a codeshare, but otherwise not.

WestJet is not a BA partner so if you book YYZ-YOZ you cannot credit it to BA, only if it was sold as a BA codeshare with a connecting itinerary.
