Depends on the aircraft but i would say yes. On the 747 the upper deck is pretty cool; the a340 and 777 have some preferred seats with better legroom (by far my #1 concern). For cdg-sfo i would do everything i could to have extra legroom.
Oh, and tweeting is easier than calling IME.
op is on a 773. Plus, there is only prem economy. hundreds more for that cabin.
