small rant from a po'd flier
I'm angry right now and I am sure I'm going to hear from some of you who tell me rules are rules. I get that but I wanna vent anyway. I tried cashing in a "Skybonus" ticket today for a friend who needs to fly from home XXX-PHX (cross country) in May. She needs to go to PHX monthly for breast cancer treatments at a facility there. Her gov't assistance pays for the treatment, not the travel. So I volunteered a ticket to help. I know the seats on these tickets are hard to find due to the low class of ticket. But the ONLY stumbling block is an "illegal connection" 4hrs. 5minutes connection the return, which exceeds the legal connection time. I asked if I could speak to a supervisor to override, the answer was no. I'd need 2 separate tickets. <sigh> I could supply documentation of the treatment that this is the purpose of the trip, not a getaway for her to go see a friend. To no avail. It's just frustrating because they can make things like this happen, I just don't understand why they don't. I realize people abuse the system but if someone is willing to provide proof.. shouldn't that suffice?
