Some of the hotel staff seem to be crazy.
My most recent experience was with the booking of 2 rooms for 3 people total at HI Express in Salford Quays.
Made the booking online and received the correct confirmation email straight back.
The booking was a 21 day advance discount, making it £55 per room, for which payment would be taken by the hotel when they received my booking.
A couple of days later I noticed that I had been charged £190, not £110 and they had taken the whole payment.
I logged in to my account and found that they had 'decided' my booking was for 1 person in 1 room and 4 people in the other room, adding 'extra occupant' fees accordingly.
It took one telephone call to the 'hotel manager' (in inverted commas because there isn't exactly a lot to manage in a UK HI Express.....) and 3 emails before the thick people finally managed to refund the overcharge....
UNBELIEVABLE.
