I visited in May last year and could not have been happier or more impressed with my visit. The hotel is stunningly beautiful and delightfully decorated. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. I was not given a suite (even as a platinum) but the room did not disappoint. We had a magnificent view over the river. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was gorgeous. My guest said that it was probably the nicest hotel he had ever stayed at. I could certainly understand why. The breakfast in the morning was superb and excellent value as an amenity. Huge variety of food.

In terms of service, I don't know if they treat their western guests different to their Chinese patrons but I found the staff to be nothing but nice, warm and welcoming for the duration of my stay.

We toyed with staying at the StRegis in town which also looks magnificent - but I am glad we went here in the end as it truly is a special hotel.
