DEN is the 4th largest U.S. airport in terms of domestic O&D passenger count. If UA can't capture a lot of that, it's doing something wrong.
The other interesting aspect of DEN is just the square miles for which people call it their 'primary airport'. Half of Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas call DEN their primary airport. Sure, there are other commercial options for those cities, but their major airport is DEN. It's not like this really has much to do with the business model, but it is interesting to think just how far it is from DEN to a second major city.
