Yes I use it all the time as the 85W will work on UA but not on LH, TG, and SQ at least not reliably.
The 45W will not perfectly sustain my i7 MacBook Retina and over about 15-20 hours at normal use, the battery will deplete despite being charged. But that is plenty good enough for any flight.
And the only problems I ever had with it was on LH's 340 and twice in QF Premium Eco on the 747 ... but those seats were close to their demise anyway.

...maybe it is too much to ask aircraft parts manufacturers to set some standards for in-seat power supplies, and for computer makers to take said standard into account...
