From my wife's experience 1week ago:
Her status on PC site became Platinum 1-2 days after she got the 80K pts bonus (when the 80K+ points credited to the PC acct). In her case it was abt 2 months after application for card (in 2nd billing cycle).
Also: When it changed to Plat appeared ability to request a card to be sent (instead of just printing it).
