Having known people work in the food industry for most of their lives, I have been told most food is considered "Halal" or "Kosher" so long as it has been accredited by an appropriate religious figure in Australia today. This includes cows killed in a regular abattoir.
I have heard similar and have wondered how those who may have posted against Halal ensure the method of meat preparation that they buy/get on flights has not been prepared in accordance with it
