Last time I checked, DXB has a majority muslim population. Qantas flights to Europe now operate via DXB. So serving pork could actually affect the majority to appease the minority.
Using your logic, why does Qantas serve Tsingtao Beer into Shanghai? That is clearly affecting passengers by having Chinese Beer loaded instead of Australian Beer and running the risk that Australian passengers have to suffer drinking Tsingtao. Why does Qantas serve Asahi to Japan?
And, when Qantas operated to BOM, I am 99% sure Beef was not served onboard to appeal to the Indian market. Perhaps pork was not served too.
Different markets have different requirements. QF is just catering to this, not as part as some crusade against freedom as many have been implying. It is creating a catering policy that provides the maximum benefit for customers whilst (imo) reducing wastage and costs.
