I hope to fly to Sweden (from Utah) in August of this year. I am flying myself, and possibly a friend. I have enough skymiles to pay for my round trip ticket, and I'd like to use the leftover skymiles to buy a portion of my friend's ticket at the same time. Is this possible? I couldn't find information about it on Delta.com

Also.. looking for flights that I want isn't proving too easy.. I'll be flying with an assistance dog, and probably bringing a puppy back with me, so the fewer stops, the better. But my days are flexible, so I want the best price (in skymiles), and it doesn't matter what days we fly within about a week time frame.

So my in my search criteria I want the most important thing to be fewest stops, then price by day of week... but I'm not really getting the Delta.com search to be very cooperative. I can search by flexible days, but then it usually gives me the most stops if I chose the lowest price. Anyone have any tips on how I can better search for what I want?
