The policy of the company I work for is explicitly states that you can keep any avios/miles/points acquired on business travel. It also states that you can't make the choice of airlines purely based on your own points gain - so no flying BA if it is more expensive than an alternative just because you would get some avios and tier points.

The vast majority of my travel is personal rather than business, so my status is really acquired with my own money. If you stripped out my OW business flights I would still have a silver card. I do not feel guilty in keeping avios from business travel as clearly the company benefits from my self-acquired status as I can have access to lounges, better luggage allowance etc. which saves on extra expenses (food, drinks, wifi in airport and excess luggage charges).
