I am trying to get three first class tickets on the same day so we can bring my little one from JFK to HKG. Ideally we can all travel together in the same flight.

I was able to obtain two first class tickets on the same day (different times though).

Regarding the the third ticket, I have 220,000 American Express Membership Awards. This will allow me to convert them to Asiamiles and get a first class ticket. However, my question is, will I be able to wait list for the same day and is there a likelihood of success?

Does Cathay give wait list preference to Asiamiles members? Can I wait list using advantage awards miles or avios on cathay? Converting my AE membership points to asiamiles will require the most points to get a first class ticket so I am trying to find the best strategy.

Also, on the date of travel, if the seats are available, will the agent at the airport help me change the ticket to a later time on the same day so we can all travel together?
