Ask real nice, and have some story (like above) that makes some sense to the reservation agent, and you might have a chance.
Thanks. The final part of the return was moved ahead 2 hours which results in a very late arrival to the final destination. With kids, late arrival would be easy to justify to push the return flight one day.
In this case, I would like to ask that the departure is also moved one day to make sure that the total trip length stays the same.
The justification would be that we are on a visa in that country and staying an extra day would brings us closer to the maximum stay on that visa. For example, the visa is good 90 days and our original stay was 87 days. I always leave at least 3 days just to make sure I do not overstay.
