I rang EK to add domestic segments to my SIN-MEL ticket that I just bought and after a good 20 minute wait (checking terms/conditions) is that they can not sell individual QF domestic segments (as separate tickets) or have them appended to the international ticket. The very friendly chap said that I should call QF and book those segments as EK coded flights, something I thought of as weird.
Am I missing something?
iirc, You are missing something. If you have a SIN-MEL ticket then there is no domestic leg that can be part of the journey and what you are wanting is a separate ticket
If you buy SIN-CBR ( for example ) then there can be a domestic leg to CBR. Alternatively a SIN-MEL ticket would allow travel ( for example ) SIN-BNE-MEL
