So If my flight leaves at 10am, I can call and confirm if my bucket is avaialble at 7am and as a DM it is no charge, but if I call at midnight and lets say the fare bucket is available (which we all know is a bunch of crap) I pay $50?

To me, SDC was one of the best benefits of being a DL Medallion as meetings get canceled and I just want to get home early, with all the other changes and this one on top of it, not many worthwhile benefits left.

I would like to know what happens in the case of A fares? If I can't get anytime SDC then why buy it?
