They are used to it and because much of the system is automated, they can stay in the game and play it a lot longer than you. There is not really such a thing as dismissing a fine because it is in the 'too hard basket'.

While you should rightfully exercise all the options available to you the one thing is not to lie and not to provide misleading information. The penalties for that are much harsher than the fine itself. Nominating people overseas (when in fact you were the driver) has been done before, and these cases are prosecuted in court.
