I was flashed on the 5th April on the M1 north to Sydney just outside Wollongong. Bayswater rental sent me a notice from NSW SDRO for the penalty amount of $525.00!!!!

This was a mere 'exceed speed limit 10km/h and under - camera detected'. However the 'amount due' on the notice stated $105 with a demerit offence. What does this actually mean, will I have to pay up the 525 or 105 for the fine?

I am considering making it difficult for them to process the fine by first sending them my cousins address in the UK who wasn't in Australia at the time. Then having my cousin apologies for the fine and asking them to waver it as I believe my speed excess was no more than 7 or 8 kph over.

Is there any other means of having SDRO cancel the fine by sending them through some more hoops?
