50 minutes is enough time at DFW unless connecting from an international flight. In the US on domestic-domestic or domestic-international connections the only reason to have to go back through security during a stop is if the terminals at that airport don't have an airside connection (as is the case at EWR or LAX for example). Thankfully all of DFWs terminals are connected airside with trains and walkways so no need to go back through security. BAs flight departs from D. Your flight from LAS will arrive in either A, C, or D. Depending on where your arrival gate is it may be quicker to walk (check the map in the inflight magazine) but typically the train only takes about 10 minutes to transit from the two farthest points.

Note if arriving international at any US airport (unless from a pre clearance airport) you do do have to go though security to connect no matter what.

Also if you miss your connection AA has two later flights that BA can and will put you on (if there are available seats).
