Bags arriving domestically at GLA from a connecting international flight used to be collected off a baggage belt in a separate area next to the domestic arrivals baggage reclaim. There would always be customs officers eyeing you up suspiciously and I witnessed the odd passenger being pulled aside for questioning.
However their presence did become less and less over the years.
I've been occasionally pulled aside by Customs officers in BHD collecting baggage on a domestic leg connecting from a long haul - they used to look for the white luggage tags and then ask you what you bought when abroad.
Now they have a fab new international arrivals facility, they seem to sometimes land all LHR baggage on the international belt and make everyone run the gauntlet of the Customs channel. That's when PSNI Special Branch aren't bored enough to want to meet the plane and demand IDs....
