I am glad things are on a level now, because the issues raised are very interesting to someone like me. I class myself as fairly savvy, but the types of things going on here are a bit more technical than I think I usually have to worry about. But this does make me worry!

Thanks for raising it, and for throwing out some guidance. The GRC reference was very useful. I have learnt a lot from Steve Gibson over the years, but had not visited the site for a while and the "fingerprinting" item was very informative.

I was not aware that the MITM attacks were so easy to set up, or might be inadvertently permitted by reputable agents. The Barney Fife reference was lost on this European reader - but Google fixed that
