First of all - thank you for a providing a place where I can ask a question and not fear being mocked!!

I hope I am posting this properly!
I have been flying Alaska 2-3 times a year for about 4 years now and want to use some of the miles I have accrued through travel/AA Visa etc. Here is my question . . .
I just researched some flights for next December/January. Is there any chance that the amount of miles needed to purchase a flight will change? More specifically, if all of the legs of the flight are on Alaska, and for some reason the price and/or miles needed to purchase the flights decrease, is there any type of refund available? Right now I am able to purchase one ticket with just miles and my husband can purchase his ticket with a combo of miles/$$ and the total cost would be reasonable, but if I have a chance to save money if the price goes down, I'd like to do that!
Hope this isn't too confusing of a question - thanks so much for any help anyone can offer. My husband and I are big fans of Alaska and plan to fly them over other airlines whenever it is feasible.
