A 6.3 magnitude earthquake in southern Iran sent tremors through the Arabian Gulf, jolting UAE coastal cities including Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates this afternoon.

The epicentre of the quake is located 280 km north of Manama in Bahrain across the sea at a depth of 10km.

Some buildings have been evacuated and workers sent home.
No casualties and property damage have yet been reported
