Also - out of interest... I'm BAEC Gold, and my wife is status-less (though she might make Bronze after this flight...) Has anyone ever heard of a time where a Gold and their guest have both been upgraded together? Or does that just never happen?

Cheers!
IIRC 15A has a small gap between the window and the seat (like CW 63A/K on the U/D) so if you are slim/small enough you can get up and go around the back (squeeze ) without disturbing your wife or vice versa. No one behind you either so no headrest grabbers! (This photo is of 12A on the mid-J which shows the gap)

As Globaliser rightly pointed out quicker to get off too is maybe worth it for the scramble on de-boarding and the loo onboard shoudln't be an issue. The seat (15A) does not have a limited recline either.

I am sure the staff use the A side more often in general terms too so the J/K side has an advantage that way.

As for the upgrade gods well who knows, just enjoy the seats you've got and if you get the magic beep, fine, if not WT+ isn't that bad a place.

Maybe worth looking out for UuA. In my limited travels, Mid J WT+ is generally a much quieter place than the High J version.
