I have an AMEX Japan card and need to select a FF program to transfer reward points to. After several days of banging my head against a wall I don't really feel any closer to figuring it out so here I am asking for some help...

I would prefer Star Alliance as I fly ANA/Air Canada (Tokyo to Vancouver) more than anything else. However if all of the Star Alliance choices are terrible I could adjust the airlines I use to get into a better program.

My specific questions:

1) Of the programs listed below, which do you feel is the best overall for booking rewards on partner airlines? (Please exclude ANA and JAL as they have low point transfer limits.)

2) If your choice for #1 wasn't in Star Alliance, which Star Alliance program (excluding ANA) do you think would be the best for booking rewards on partner airlines?
