If your main reason is the above, then it makes sense to move. I agree 4 Pts are not the best but element and alofts are a decent alternative. Another option is to move to Hyatt where Hyatt place and Houses are good alternatives. And if possible, go for top tier on both SPG and Hyatt. That will increase your overall coverage.

I myself moved to SPG and Hyatt 11 years ago and never looked back. Just ask yourself, how's your Marriott or Hilton point balance look today? If you don't like what you see, move.
