My wife will opt for a bath sometimes, but usually only if the bathroom is particularly inviting which is generally in 4* type places and up.

I have never taken a bath in a hotel and I prefer when they have showers only. The only way I'd bathe in a hotel room is if I stayed at that joint in HKG with tubs that have views over Hong Kong harbour!!

I recall reading an article a while back... cannot remember for the life of me where... that said hotel tubs are cleaned every day with harsh cleaners and as a result, there is a fair bit of residue left. I always remind my wife to give the tub a good rinsing to get any of the chemical residue out before she gets in.
