Air France A380 Seat Reservation issues
This is my first time posting. I just need a bit of advice as I am at my wits end with Airfrance/Delta/KLM customer Service.
The situation:
In December, my party of 4 booked tickets through Delta for an outbound Airfrance flight from JFK to CDG on the A380. We reserved 4 consecutive seats in the middle section (lower level) as it was the only way that we could all sit together. I checked Airfrance's website shortly after the booking to make sure that the seat assignments had been processed. I called 2 months ago to confirm the seat assignment. I checked the flight a few days ago and only 1 of the members of my party had an assigned seat. I called airfrance and they told me that they would remedy the situation. I checked back a few hours later and the 3 unassigned seats had been assigned to the upper deck of the plane separate from the 4th person (still on the lower level in our original seats). I called back and was told by a supervisor that "Airfrance" had blocked off all the seats in that row and that Airfrance had moved the three members of my party to a different section of the plane, but could not move them back.
I don't really understand what is going on because I thought I was calling Airfrance but the person said the only ones who can change it are Airfrance in Paris. I was dumbfounded.
What should I do? Can I get any compensation (upgrade, extra bag, anything?) for this type of thing? I feel like I did everything right (booked early, checked constantly) and now am being punished because I am not a french citizen.
I understand that seats aren't guaranteed but why would they move my seats so close to the flight.
PLEASE HELP!
