i sent my passport in for expedited renewal with overnight delivery back. It now appears that I will be out of town when the new passport is sent back.

Does anyone know whether the overnight service requires a signature on delivery?

The post office won't hold express mail requiring a signature for more than a week and if timing is at its best/worst, I won't be able to pick the passport up within the week limit.

I called the passport processing line and they weren't able to tell me. If I had not paid for overnight delivery, I'd be all right because that doesn't require a signature.
