Yes, there is a companion seat, space it not generous but it does exist.
Personally I wouldn't try to both eat at the same table, the space there would be more than a little tight with two setups.
D/G seats will be fine if you don't need to run around the end to help with anything like overheads. Even if you do, it is not a long way to go I guess.
Another alternative is going for A/D or G/J so you are both on the same aisle and can see each other at least minimally whereas 1/2J will not give you any scope for eye contact without standing up.
..Or if you're in D/G you could rotate your two chairs to face each other and have the FA's serve dinner to you that way
