it is not a 'regulation'... I agree it is a good idea, but really chafe when FAs make crap up...or worse they dont know and repeat it.

Like saying "FAA regulations prohibit storage of ipads in the seat back pocket" Again, they dont. The airline may have procedures to comply with AA regulations that may in fact prohibit such items, but as I recall the FAA actually has a weight limit in their regs
