When I politely asked her how many seats were left for the sale, she stated 6. Thus, when I inquired as to why there is only one seat left, she stated that it is OZ's policy to only assign 50% of seats in advance, but clearly, if the flight is booked with 2 F guests out of a total F capacity of 8 and there is only one seat left for advance selection, then quantitatively, it is beyond clear that OZ is only willing to assign 25% of the F seats in advance, not 50% as it did in the past. Has anyone encountered a similar experience on a flight operated by the new B77W?
Well, I haven't had the experience on the 777. However, a few months ago I could only reserve 3A on the 747 in First. When I checked-in at the airport I asked if I could get a different seat. The agent handed me the seating chart and said, "Which seat would you like?" I pointed to 1A, and that's what I got! I thought, just maybe, I was the only pax in F. But, when I boarded, the cabin was almost full! So, it's a strange policy, but can sometimes work to your advantage...if you're willing to get to the airport early enough to play their seat lottery! ;-)
