After reading the last 10 pages, a lot of my questions about EMV have been answered. Thanks!

I do have another question regarding Chase's EMV Marriott card. I got the Marriott Premier before the chip and signature was offered, and just called Chase to ask them to issue me a card with the EMV chip. The rep told me to be careful when traveling internationally. Any time I enter my pin, it would be counted as a cash advance.

Now in the last few days there was a post about success using the AMEX plat chip and signature internationally by verifying the pin number. I read this thread every couple of months, and I vaguely remember other people posting similar experience with other cards.

I also have a BofA chip and signature. If I try to use the BofA or Chase Marriott cards internationally, and it prompts me for a pin in a train station, am I automatically going to be charged as a cash advance?

Thanks.
