They sure did announce it, but they are still part of *A. I actually called aeroplan on this matter yesterday because I am lookin to book YEG/LAS and US airways has the best outbound flight pricing, but I need the status miles. The AE agent said as long as the flight is BOOKED before the merge is complete, AE will honour the status miles and US will honour *A commitments.
