Thank you, this is a worthwhile enhancement. Flying Club miles can be redeemed for travel on many other carriers including US Airways and Virgin America, and also transferred to Hilton HHonors (1:2).

The US Airways partnership ends in June 2013 because Delta Airlines has agreed to buy the minority share in Virgin Atlantic from Singapore Airlines. This suggests that VS miles will eventually be redeemable for travel on Delta.
